Eddy they say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I think I’ll take the words this time… Can you explain further?

Funny, but I actually know what this is.

It’s a 3 layer extrusion blend for plastic film.

I think this is more what he is looking for:

Part 1234 BOM

Layer1 Layer2 Layer3
Resin 1 30% 5% 80%
Resin 2 40% 75%
Resin 3 15%
Resin 4 5% 20%
Resin 5 10% 20%

yes.
each layer can be illustrated as a operation. so we have 3 operations.
each operation has Resin as raw mtl.
now, in the baq, how can i pivot operation into columns and each mtl in the operation will be the rows.
so, the Result will look like as below
Part 1234 BOM

Operation 1(20%) Operation 2(30%) Operation 3(50%)
Res1 30% Res2 5% Res1 76%
Res2 45% Res5 95% Res4 12%
Res3 25% Res6 3%
Res7 9%

Something like that. if it is in stored procedure, it is ok. but now, we need use BAQ.
Don’t know how to do it.

Eddy

Is your number of operations always 3? If its dynamic you can’t use pivot in SQL

Mine wouldn’t be. We have different numbers of layers for different machines.
We don’t have our engineering in Epicor this way though, so I can’t be much help either.

Is this accurate?

Hosting Type: Epicor SaaS MT

it always 3 layers. in reality, it always 5 layers. i just use 3 layers to represent the idea.

Regards,

Eddy

in my situation, the number of layers is fixed. i will confirm with the BA tomorrow.

Regards,

Eddy

Even if it’s not fixed set it to the highest number say 5 or 6. PIVOT would be nice because of the performance in which SQL creates them is very good.

Hello,
in the BAQ, I did not see the PIVOT.
Don’t know how to PIVOT a table in the BAQ then.

Regards,

Eddy

The Kinetic BAQ designer is in “Preview”, and is not ready for real work.
Use the classic designer.

I haven’t looked lately, but if it’s in the Kinetic one, it’ll be with the phrase builder section I would guess.

Hello,
still don’t know how to pivot the table in baq. there is no such option. also, we have to use kinetic.

Eddy

Probably out of luck then.

If you are on cloud you can still run the classic BAQ screen

Hello,

When I open baq, it goes to kinetic version directly. There is no open classic baq screen.

Regards,

Eddy

Are you running it from the browser or the smart client?
From the browser it won’t work obviously from the smart client you can hold down

Ctrl + Alt and select Classic from here
