Dashboard Tracker Default Value

Is there a way to default the dashboard tracker choosing Order Date to today’s date but still be able to change the date to view old information?

I would usually try a customization
assuming the dashboard has a tracker filter for the date field and is already deployed/listed on your menu

Then you could enable developer mode and start the new customization,
