Dashboard Newb Question

It is a tracker view of the dashboard - correct? Then right click on
tracker, choose customize tracker view...



When the customization box opens, select the input field(s), change the
property for dashboard prompt to true (likely is false if greyed out).
And change the dashboard condition property to what is needed from the
drop down list - for choosing a range.

Okay probably something easy,
How do I get a date range (i.e. podate) field which will allow my to
input date ranges through a new tracker view. I thought I did the
advanced search tab correctly which I though we allow me to click on
Input Prompts Only. However it is always greyed out. Im doing something
wrong and its driving me nuts.
