Dashboard Export from E9 to E10

Is there a way to mass export and import? I tried the solution, but states that my solution is at Version 3 and current E10 solution is 10.

Ours were upgraded from E9 to E10 when we upgraded the DB as part of the migration. I’m guessing you’re doing a new deployment instead?

Correct…

I have not tried, but can you create a solution with all your dashboards and install it to E10?

Wont let be, solutions version from E9 is different from E10. That was the first thing I tried,

Sorry, I’m not aware of any other way to mass export/import

That is annoying. Looks like it will be one at a time then.

Perhaps they way to do it would be to do a dummy upgrade on another server. That would depend on how many dashboards you have I guess. It may not be the most efficient way.

We are doing a new implementation. Last time I tried the conversion our DB got stuck and has to open calls with support because we had bad data. Going to see if Epicor has a solution through their CSG.

Did you use the Epicor ERP analyzer on your old system before you tried the upgrade?

The other alternative would be to import the solution into a copy of the Eduction db then upgrade that

Have you tried the solution workbench adapter method in E9. In E10 this feature is available? I am not sure about E9.

Genuinely curious your issues with migration. Obviously everyone has different data and business and the db does not have the referential integrity that would be ideal and add the list of things that could occur.
But (there is always a but)…
We’ve put a ton of time and effort into the db migration tooling. Cirrus is available to do a sanity check on the process by cloudifying the upgrade process.
You want to avoid the upgrade of the database from E9 to E10 and do a mass move of the dashboards but by doing so you lose out on the dashboard and BAQ conversions needed. If you want a fresh deployment you can upgrade the DB to a staging database using the new deployment, export a cab, switch to their new database and import. Or they can simply upgrade the database and skip all that effort.

I’d be very curious when you had issues and what Cirrus or current on premise tooling would do for you. We’ve improved over the past year as we have had Cirrus beat us up internally - for everyone’s benefit.

Thanks!

What is this Cirrus you are talking about? IS that a Support call for getting some more script files? I had used the Data Cleansing tool, or DU I think it was called.

It has been a year since I tried to migrate our DB, was told not to put any effort there, but i still need to migrate the DB, bad data and all, so that I can retire the progress server and just use the migrated DB for historical data.

Thanks for the response on the subject

Cirrus? Our hosted migration system?

Cirrus = “Epicor Upgrade Services” generically

Some on this list may remember RIO…or SONOMA. #oldschool

We ended up using EPICOR Services to convert our E9 Prog DB to SQL.

Might I add that it was very cheap and EXTREMELY Fast. My 70GB DB was converted in one day from start of upload to completed conversion. Amazing.
