Cycle Count Simplification - There has to be a better way

We do not use the Epicor Kinetics system to select which parts are being counted for a Cycle Count. We have an outside Spreadsheet that we use for many reasons. I want to have a quick way to not go thru the whole Cycle Count steps that are very repetitive to enter the counts. I want a simple “1 screen” solution.
Below are the fields I want to see and how I want it to function. If anyone had done something similar please let me know.

Part Number

  • This field we would manually input when entering a Cycle Count

Bin

  • This can be manual entry or automatic. I am not sure which would work best for a customization because some parts have more than one bin location containing inventory quantity.

Expected Quantity

  • This would be the total on hand quantity for the Part and Bin that was input.

Counted Quantity

  • This would need to be a manual entry field.
  • It would also need to allow the quantity of “0” to be entered, and if 0 is entered then it would adjust the inventory accordingly, just like the Cycle Count Process does.

Variance Quantity

  • If this could automatically populate the variance between the Required Quantity and the Counted Quantity that would be great. If not, we at least need it to calculate on a Variance Report to print prior to posting.
  • Currently the system calls it a Count Variance Calculation Report

Count Variance Calculation Report

  • This report needs to include the following fields below
  • Part Number
  • Part Description
  • Bin
  • Expected on Hand Quantity
  • Counted Quantity
  • Adjusted Qty
  • Adjusted Value
  • This report would capture all parts that were entered.

Post

  • This will be to Post the Cycle Count Group that was entered and it would automatically generate the inventory adjustments that are needed to correct our Inventory on hand quantity’s

Mandy,
I’ve used both the ABC selection process as well as selecting my own parts. The cycle count part selection screen allows you to paste insert parts into the screen. So if you count by area, you can use a query to grab the parts you want and add them to the count.
the Epicr Kinetic mobile warehouse andriod app from biscit allows you to use cycle count ext, which does not require printing tags. It finds the tags based on bin or part or PCID.
