CustXPart table

Probably not. The basic issue is MegaCorp has a product we make a stamping
for and when their product is ready for full production they contract it out
to assemblers in perhaps Ireland and Brazil. They in turn must order from
us (MegaCorp says so)but being independent from MegaCorp we bill them
directly. So the sales show up under the contract manufacturers whereas we
want to give recognize it as sales to MegaCorp. I think CustXPart will work
if we are careful about creating an order for the part under MegaCorp to get
it in the cross reference. Then I can write RB reports to lump sales to the
contractors under the part owner.

Thanks again,
-Todd C.

On another path-the Sales Analysis report will give you info for customers
by part number-no help, huh?

I can see a table called CustXPart in the table lists for linking in RB but
can not find it in the data dictionary (V4.00.806). This table has some
very interesting looking fields and if it does what I think (associate a
Part with a Customer) it would be hugely helpful. Better than a CustID
userdata or VB Form field on the part because it seems to use the CustNum
key field for the customer.

Is this a real table or something leftover from an earlier release but now
abandoned? If it is real then how is it populated?

Thanks,

Todd:

This is a real table, but it compares the company "our" part number to the
customer part number, based on info from sales order entry. It probably
won't help with your situation. It's in my data dictionary (4.00.904), but
I've had a report based on it from 3.0, so if you can't see it, you must
have a database problem.

Thanks. I'll see if I can make this work somehow. In our case "our" part
number is always the customer's part number anyway since we are pretty much
a job shop. Exception being a couple parts we sell to associate contract
manufacturers who assemble things for the "real" part customer. In this
case it would sure be nice to identify sales of a part under the owner of
the part. I think if I create a customer part number for ONLY the owner it
might get me where I want to go. Similar to the parent customer question a
bit ago.

BTW - I found it in the dictionary (the printed copy that is) but it is in
the table of contents at the beginning of the book as CustRpt. It is so
small a record I missed it in the actual tables section.

Thanks again,
-Todd C.
