Customizing the Left-Side Menu Tree

Our company has expressed a need to start tracking an aviation industry-specific process covered under the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that requires certain checkoffs at distinct stages during non-conformance detection, inspection, and rework/disposition. This cannot be done via the out-of-the-box NC/INSP/DMR loop because of the FAA compliances we need to add and track. We’re hoping to leverage a combination of UD tables and left-side menu customizations to make this happen.

Would anyone be able to tell me if the left-side menu tree can be customized to link to certain tab sheets on a customized form – AND – if they can be customized to reflect the same green checkoff status that can be found on operations in this example for Job Tracker:

Do you have the CRM Help Desk (Case) Module? Within it, you can create a set of tasks that require approval and it would show links to jobs, quotes, orders, RMAs, etc.

Yes - we are licensed for that module. I never gave that a thought, so I appreciate you suggesting it. I’ll have to spend some time with that module to see if it’ll suit the requirements and frankly, I’d rather use something out-of-the-box than to reinvent the wheel.
