Customizing Shipping Labels

Sorry, it is copyrighted material you will need to get it from Epicor.

We're trying to use the SSRS shipping labels report to print our shipping labels. We want to make a couple of changes to the shipping labels and I was wondering if it could be done and, if so, what changes would need to be made.

1. Can we add a total weight field to the label? We would want the field to calculate the weight based on the part weight x quantity.

2. Can we have logos that change based on the company the items are being shipped to? So, one customer would have logo A and a different customer would have logo b.

3. Can we create the label so that it only prints out 4x6 labels? We're using sticky labels that are 4x6 and I'd like to keep it that way.

As long as the weight and quantity are already in the dataset which I think it is all of these items are standard SSRS functionality.  There are several articles on handling conditionally showing images along with the other items on the Net.  These do a better job than I would do in writing the steps here.

Recommendation is to make a copy of the reports leaving the original Epicor report untouched.  This allows you to run the standard reports to determine if the problem is yours or Epicor's.

Those two items will be in the dataset. Do you have any advice on which articles I should read to get going on this? I'm completely new to SSRS (we're coming off of Vista 4.41) and I'm completely lost. Would love some direction.
If you have the Epicor embedded education license there is a manual included as part of that.  It goes through building a scratch report, customize an existing report and building a BAQ based report.  Without the license don't know if Epicor will provide/sell the manual.

If not, Microsoft and others have some decent on-line tutorials.  For the topics you are asking about Google each of them will yield several articles on each.  Which articles to recommend is tough as it is more which one makes sense to you.

Another option is to attend a class given by Epicor or a partner.

Thanks for the additional information Jim. We do have the embedded education. I'll look into that and see what it can tell me.
Jim, do you know where that manual is included? Is it within the education courses or somewhere else?
The SSRS.PDF file (name it had when I got it) may not be there but you should be able to get it from Epicor.
