Customer shipment entry from Job makes the quantity zero on save

We are doing a customer shipment from a job for the first time. So far all our shipments have been from inventory so this issue never came up.

We entered an order for a part that is not in the part master. Accordingly the release was marked Make Direct. A job was created and materials issued to the job. Quantity was reported on the job through Time and Expense and on the Job Tracker it shows the quantity completed.

Now we are trying to make the Packing Slip. On the pack line we entered the quantity on the Our Job Ship Qty and click Save. As soon as we click save the quantity becomes zero. It is not allowing the quantity to be saved. The same result happens even if we print after entering the quantity. Any idea on why this could be happening. We have checked all the configuration setting that we think might have an effect.

We have been using Epicor for 8 years now. This never came since all our shipments have been from inventory so far.

Version is 10.2.400

I assume the job is linked to the sales order release?

Is the part number serial number controlled?

job is linked to the release. It is not lot or serial controlled. All BPMs turned off and using the base version.

Does the quantity auto-fill when you add the line to the shipment? Or is it 0 and you’re adding the quantity?

It autofills with the order quantity. Then on save or printing it becomes zero.

I’m not sure. We do this type of order all the time and I’ve not seen that. I tried several things in our sandbox, but I can’t repeat the behavior you are describing. Maybe a snapshot of the line/release tabs might help?

Given above the line and release tabs

Thanks

What ERP version are you running?
Have you tried using the MassShipment, Ship All, Update buttons in Customer Shipment?

10.2.400. Have tried all the buttons. same result everytime.

When creating the shipment line are you filling the Order fields or the Job Number fields?

Also do you see correct values in the “From Manufacturing” group at the bottom of the Lines/Detail tab?

Tried both ways. Correct values do fill in the group. But the quantity becomes zero as soon as I click Save.

Are you are entering in the Job Number?

Yes.

So your Customer Shipment Entry window looks like the following, until you hit save?

After hitting save just the “Our Job Ship Qty” and “Job num” fields go blank?

Have you run a trace to see what happens upon saving? Maybe there’s a BPM to prevent doing a Ship From, because you never wanted to do it before.

I found the issue. There was an old data directive that was causing the problem. While I had disabled the method directives and forgot about the data directive.

Thanks for all the responses and I apologize for wasting time. I should have known better to check every where, but I got frustrated after spending two hours on this.

Thanks again.

Stay safe.

And I was just coming here to say I can’t replicate this on 700 nor 400.

Good thing it was just a directive and not a bug. :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad you found it!
