Customer part cross reference

I just had to do this a week or so ago.

I opened a new sales order, put in the part number with the correct customer
part number (or with the customer part number blank) made it for 0 qty and
$0. Then we closed the order. That forces a break in the "relationship"
between "our part number" and "customer part number." If you have existing
orders or quotes, it DOES NOT change history.

If we create a customer part cross reference with an error in the customer
part number - is there a way to correct it later?

Thanks,

Yes, there is a way, because I had to fix the same problem about 6 weeks
ago. At least one way the cross reference list is created is when an order
line with your part number and the customers part number is created and
accepted.

As I recall, it seems I changed a number of things, including customer
quotes, and previous orders where the mistake was made to finally correct
the table.

The help files may give a little insight into the cross reference table. It
took me a while to find, but if you open a sales order, and then "update
line", click the help button in the lower right corner the "Entering Sales
Order line items" screen will appear. Scroll down to 2. and select
"Customer Part Number", and a new screen will show a "little" info on cross
reference lists.

Good luck, and feel free to call me if you have any more questions or
problems.
