Custom reports in Vantage 8.0 & 8.3

We are currently using Vantage 8.0 and have been having difficulty
in getting reports customized for specific purposes. The data we
are looking to access and report is in the system, but getting it
pulled out of this place and that place to make the desired report
has been a chore and thus far fruitless.

Example: Purchasing needs a report that would include Inventory
usage by quarters, min/max/safety stock, lead times, Min order qty,
Min/Max accuracy record, and ideally, usage by month for the last 3
years. We had such a report written when we were using 6.0, but
have been unable to duplicate it in 8.0. The report was great for
forcasting as well as timing blanket orders. There are other such
report needs we face as well.

So any ideas? Is there a Report Writer some of you are using with
success?

I am currently in a Corvu training class in MN. WELL worth Corvu,
not Epicor training. I learned how to do in minutes, what it has
taken me months to struggle through myself.

Highly recommended!!!! Check out the Corvu site for training
schedules

Yes, I thought the CorVu training was very good....if all you want to do is create your own reports or try to modify the canned VBI reports. On the other hand (at least way back when I took it) they had zero info on how the Vantage BI routines that create the canned dynamarts work and are scheduled or administered since all that was created by Epicor. Apparently you really must take both class "views" to get the whole picture. If you want CorVu but want to ignore the canned stuff perhaps the CorVu class alone would suffice if you can connect it to the live database or do batch extracts to create your own dynamarts.

Using Vantage 6.3

We have used CorVu for about 3-4 years.
We created our own menus, with many customized reports which show
anything from inventory turns to
Running metrics for production.

It is quirky, the training at CorVu was great, and it is well work it
for us.

As we move to Vantage 8, we think of moving some things to Crystal or
Dashboards.
We don't know which is advantageous for us.
