Currency code error when creating new quote in E9

We finally solved this problme so I thought I would post it here in case someone else encounters this. I Changed the currency ID in Vista in the Company Maintenance to "USD". We then reran the conversions. Now when I attempt to create a new quote or new customer in E9 I don't get the error. All is well at last.

Hello All,

We're in the final stages of testing before making the big leap. The one lingering problem I'm having is an error when creating a new quote. "Currency code cannot contain more than 4 characters." Hi,

I think I have encountered this with EDI...The data dictionary shows the
CurrencyCode field is only 4 characters. We have one setup as BASE,
with the rest of the fields filled in for USD...You will find the
currency master under Accts Receivable, setup...

FYI,

Karen

Hello All,

We're in the final stages of testing before making the big leap. The one
lingering problem I'm having is an error when creating a new quote.
"Currency code cannot contain more than 4 characters." Has anyone else
encountered this and if so how did you resolve it? I have a call in to
Epicor but have not gotten a response.

In Vista the currency code field is also only 4 characters. I cannot create or change my currency code because I don't have the Currency Management Module. I guess that's part of Financials which we don't have. My question now is if in Vista it's only 4 characters why would I even get this error?

When I open Currency Master Maintenance the Currency Code says "US Dollars" and is read only. If I can't add new currency codes and can't modify what is already here how do I fix this?

We have Vantage and do not yet use Quote entry, but checking our TEST
system, the currency field seems to be at Header, line, summary...Header
and Summary were autofilled and had a drop down, but line had a text box
with no drop down...

Check each tab in Vista (if it is the same) and find the currency fields
- do they match what is setup? Also, I see there is a currency in
Company configuration - do you have it setup there?

I set the currency ID in Company Configuration to "USD" as instructed in the user guide but I still get the same error. Guess I'll go home and come back in Monday with fresh eyes and try to tackle this again.

This may be a field that requires a restart of at least the task agent & process services if not everything before it goes into affect. I really don't know, but its worth a try.

I've tried that and it didn't work. Tech support still hasn't responded to this one. This is the only thing stopping us from going live with this and it's frustrating me.

Go into the Admin Tools and Run Conversion Program 10400 i believe it is. That should fix your issue with the Currency code error.

I did that today and I'm still getting the same error. I had high hopes that this would fix the problem but it didn't. When you run the conversion where does it pull the data from?
