Good Morning,
We have currency exchange records that are getting stuck in intermediate table workbench. We have a single source global currency master that once updated in our CONSOLIDATION company copies down to our subsidiaries.
This has been working flawlessly for years, but as of 1/26 any new CurrencyEx entry in CONS is getting stuck in Integrated Table Workbench for 4 out of the 8 companies. The Workbench doesn’t show any errors either
Interesting. We’ve also had reports getting stuck in “rendering”. Being cloud, all I could do was request a data fix so I could clear them. EpiCare had zero input on why all of the sudden they are getting stuck in this state.
Yeah, I guess the examples I pasted above actually had an error, and it ended up being a communication issue between the servers. That issue cleared itself up once connection was re-established.
But, a couple weeks ago I was battling a bunch that looked like @josecgomez image. Where the task still had a state of “Active”, but they were stuck at Rendering. Because there were no errors, there was nothing for me to use to troubleshoot. Some of the reports (OrderAck) would print, some of them would get stuck. I DID eventually find an issue in one of my RDD relationships that was the issue, and haven’t had the problem since correcting that. But, why they all printed fine for a couple years and recently started having a problem, I can’t say. But, I guess it did force me to fix the underlying issue (which I wasn’t even aware of until this started happening).
No, root cause shouldn’t matter (to a reasonable extent). Unwillingness to assist is a different matter.
Still agree with you… “could do” vs. “would do” is the difference between positive and poor technical service experience. I realize they can’t chase down every issue for every hack-job programmer (like myself)… but a little help/guidance would have been nice.
My request for help was basically, “The base report runs, so I know my custom report is the likely culprit, but since I never received an error (nor had issues printing) with this report style in the past (has not been modified in over 2 years)… and am not receiving an error now to help highlight the problem… are there any breadcrumbs you [EpiCare] can see on the report server end, or any known changes in the last update which may now be causing a conflict?”
Response was basically: “Since it is a customized report, there is nothing we can do. Recommend rebuilding it from scratch.”
A fresh set of eyes and maybe 10-15 minutes of extra effort can make a world of difference in potentially resolving an issue…that whole concept of “experienced technical support”.
