Curious Admin Server Error

If I recall properly, there are some specific rights in the Local
Security Policy required by the user that Progress/OpenEdge runs as.

On my system I see:

- Act as part of the operating system
- Create a token object
- Create permanent shared objects
- Log on as a batch job
- Log on as a service
- Replace a process level token

I would try explicitly granting these rights to your domain account
and see if things start working.

Subject: [Vantage] Curious Admin Server Error

Has anyone come across this error before?

I am having some trouble getting the admin service to completely start
with
a domain account.

I have a domain account called EpicorAdmin and the admin service will
authenticate and "start" however no AppServers will start. I get the
following error in the default.log in the oe101b_wrk folder.

[date and time] [2] [Security] Domain\EpicorAdmin:X:No Group
Checking: User is not authenticated. (9897)

Ok, so I know this is a security error and it has something to do with
the
user not being able to be authenticated in some way, I am just not sure
why
exactly. The PET and everything else cannot be accessed because not
everything actually starts up.

A java.exe will briefly start, and then shutdown.

The Domain user is part of the Domain Admin group, as well as a local
Admin
on the server.

The admin service will start up completely if I use only a local admin
account, however, this is an SQL install, so the AppServers fail when
the
local admin is not authenticated on the second server where the SQL is
located.

This is only a Test Installation, so it's not an urgent thing, it's more
a
puzzling problem than anything else.
