First thing. You can not select the db file directly (i.e.
v:\vantage\database\vantage.db). It must be done through the ODBC
connection or you will not get the tables.
IÂ’m donÂ’t know which version you are running of Crystal and Vantage but when
you create a new report do not select database file, select SQL/ODBC then
scroll down to your progress entry that is configured for vantage. Click
ok, no user name or password and click ok again. If ODBC is configured
correctly you should get a list of the tables.
Let me know if you need more help.

Subject: [Vantage] Crystal Reports - new report
I'm having a problem creating a new Crystal Report using SQL/ODBC. It's
been many moons since I've done this successfully (at least I think I did
anyway) and that was on earlier versions of CR and Vantage.
When I try to choose database file, and select Vantage.db, I get the
following errors: 1. IDAPI Error - corrupt Header (say OK) then get: 2.
pdbbtrv.dll cannot be opened Check it's configuration.
I checked for pdbbtrv.dll, and it did not exist. Found that this file was
part of the 16 bit installation, and I've installed the 32 bit version
(running windows 98 on workstation). I expanded the pdbbtrv.dll file, and
the 2nd error above goes away, but get error #1 again, and then an error:
"Vantage not a known database type"
I've checked and tested the ODBC Configuration using ODBC Administrator, and
the connection is "established".
Any Ideas?
I'm on Vantage 5.0, patch 350, Progress 9.1C, Crystal Reports 7.0
Thanks
