We're currently implementing Vantage 5.1 and I've just redesigned a
report for use within our company. It's nothing complex and only has
three formula fields which just test to see if a number is positive
or negative. The report works fine from within Crystal (v8.0) but as
soon as I try to get Vantage to use it it gives me an Error 515
message. I'm 99% sure there is nothing wrong with the report itself
as Crystal prints it ok. Vantage even give me the error message and
I have Crystal Reports installed on my machine so that rules out a
DLL problem. Any ideas anybody?
Don't some of the DLL files need to be in the Vantage\dll folder on the
server so that anyone not having Crystal can run them? The versions of the
dll's on your server might be 7.0 dll's and not match your development
machine.

Hi,
Which Vantage report is it? Did you add any fields via ODBC to the report other than were originally available?

The following is from the Seagate list of error codes. Sounds like there is
a problem in one of your formula's.

Error 515 - There is a formula error in the replacement formula text. Review
the formula syntax and retry.

This also shows up if you used a third-party add-on to Crystal and you don't
have the correct DLL files where they need to be. I've also seen this show
up when the databases haven't been verified properly.

I had the same 515 error this week. Changed a few formulae on our PO,
previewed and printed fine using Crystal 8.0 (Vantage 5.0). When I tried it
from Vantage I would get 515.

I reversed my changes one at a time until the error went away. It ended up
being my use of Cdbl, I changed it to ToNumber and all was well.

Annoying that what works in Crystal doesn't work in Vantage.

DLL problem. Any ideas anybody?
The report I'd modified was chkprint. We currently don't have the
correct cheque stationary so I'd produced a two part cheque print.
All I needed was to run the Remittences. Basically this report was
just making use of the .dbf files that come out of Vantage. There are
no ODBC links there and the only formula I used was :
IIF ({Aptran.Doctramt}>=0,"Invoice" ,"Credit Note" ). I've had
problems with using formulae in Vantage before although they produced
a different error and we're more complex. I'm not sure how I could
rewrite this formula if I needed to? I couldn't think of a better
way to do it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Epicor support wasn't too helpful.

Try the simple Crystal syntax of:

If {Aptran.Doctramt} >= 0 Then "Invoice" Else "Credit Note"

See if that works.
