I was told by Epicor exec's that as long as SAP continues to maintain the licensing scheme in place Crystal will remain. I don't know the details on their agreement but I suspect if SAP jacked up pricing on run time licenses it could affect the relationship. SRSS is certainly a viable option and probably has less long term risk. If I were creating new reports or forms and knew both products I would opt for SRSS.
My 2 cents....

Subject: [Vantage] Crystal Reports - Epicor 9.05
Our company plans to upgrade from Epicor 9.04 to 9.05. We are currently using OpenEdge Progress as our DB and Crystal Reports. I noticed that the latest version of Crystal Reports for download from the Epicor site is 2008. Crystal Reports was purchased from Business Objects by SAP in late 2007. Does anybody know if Epicor plans to phase out or not keep up-to-date with Crystal Reports? If so, then it might be in our best interest to change to SQL and SSRS. I know that would create the additional overhead of converting the Crystal Reports to SSRS. Any thoughts? Thanks!
