I had the same problem between FAS and Vantage back in November. It was resolved by the following. FAS and Vantage CR reports now co-exist. Some of this I had posted before on another Crystal issue.
After installing FAS report writer:
1. Check
<http://support.businessobjects.com/fix/hot/si75/default.asp#Crystal%20Report> http://support.businessobjects.com/fix/hot/si75/default.asp#Crystal%20Report
s%20Service%20Packs
and scroll down to the CR 8.5 section to download Service Pack 3 (sorry if
the long link wraps badly - you might have to go to
support.businessobject.com and work down to the patches from there). Put
this on your CR development PC (assuming you have one) and then start to
compare the DLL version numbers in it and the Mfgsys61/DLL folder. Rename
the Vantage versions (DLL-Old perhaps?) and copy the newer ones from the
development PC to mfgsys61\dll folder on the Vantage server. The hot fix I think is also in the Vantage FTP files.
2. Then copy ALL the CR type .DLLs from the Vantage/DLL folder to the
System32 folder on the client PC where the report is trying to be run from.
Also copy P2BXBSE.DLL to the client's system32 folder. In particular
crpe32.dll needs to be in synch between the development PC, mfgsys61\dll
folder and the client's PC.
3. Find Sscsdk80.dll in the program Files\Seagate Software\Shared folder and
copy this to the Winnt\System32 folder (or equivalent for whichever OS) on
the client PC. There have been reports that certain forms with graphics
(like company logo) can bomb out randomly (memory issue?) without this .dll
on the client. There might also be a sscsdk32.dll too that needs to be
copied.
Most of this should overlay any "alien" .dlls from the FAS or other Crystal based report writers but not disable them. Another way I have tried for getting the lastest DLLs on the client is if you have the report distribution wizard you can "distribute" a report to the client after having checkmarked to copy DLLs (but not data files) in the wizard.

Babette,
Try printing with a client without other applications such as ABRA, Best
Software's Fixed Assets, Crystal Reports Professional or other products that
use crystal reports for reporting purposes.
I had the same problem and found by uninstalling Best Software's Fixed
Assets fixed the problem then reinstalling it recreated the issue.
My solution was to allow our 2 accounting people to run Best Software's
Fixed Asset package one at a time using XP's remote control feature to a PC
sitting in the IT department. No more mixed dlls.

There has been a lot of discussion about Crystal/Vantage on this forum.
I am still hoping to glean a few more words of wisdom from this group.
We have recently experienced:
AR invoices dropping detail lines
AR invoices adding unassociated Misc charges to all invoices
Mass print of Travelers not working
This was true in Vantage default reports & our modified reports.
From Tech Support we switch from Crystal 8.5.3... to 8.5.2.718 This fixed
most problems.
We still have 2 issues:
AR invoices adding unassociated Misc charges to all invoices
Creating new report in Crystal, 1 table (Parts). Will preview but
errors when saving "The handle is invalid".
Did verify database.
What now?
Crystal 8.5.2.718
Vantage 6.1.519
