Creating a new App within Application Studio

Very basic question here, and maybe I’m missing something, as this is my first foray into Application studio aside from adding layers to existing screens.

But at one of the sessions from insights this year we created an App from scratch within application studio, and now back on my home system running Kinetic 2022.1, I open application studio and do not see any plus sign or option within the overflow “…” to create a new application.

I do not believe it is permission related, as I am a full security manager with all options enabled. My thought is perhaps a license/module issue our company does not have. Any help is much appreciated.

You may need to upgrade. I think they added that in 2023.

Thanks for the quick reply. That could explain it…we aren’t planning to upgrade end of the year earliest. Guess I’ll most likely be shelving this project until then.

This may seem silly but as a follow up question in theory would it be possible to gut a screen we do not use in our operation and build the app that way as a layer?

Just create a classic dashboard and then do generate app - that will give you a kinetic app to work from.
