I have one user who always seems to be having trouble with attachments. This time she somehow had an attachment added to an order that was closed a week ago. How could you add an attachment to a closed order? I just tried doing this and it wouldn’t let me. Change log shows everything closed on the 20th, but the attachment is form an email that is dated for yesterday.
Maybe no one attached it.
The Problem with Attachments is IF you have an Attachment and its name Invoice1.pdf and someone else tries to upload Invoice1.pdf to another Order he/she is allowed to OVERWRITE the other Orders Invoice1.pdf which is scary! so someone could have done that.
Your only way around this is on your server in your .sysconfig there is a AutoDateStamp feature you can enable which is disabled by default.
In other words you might have 100s of “incorrect” Attachments lurking.
WOW! Not cool! Sorry for the crazy question BUT, which sysconfig is it I need to change?
\YOURSERVERNAME\ERP10.1.500.0Deployment\Client\config\
Another Gotcha if you do an Upgrade even a minor one it resets this sometimes to Prompt again. This should be Default if you ask me to stamp wheres nathan
If you move that property into the
<usersettings>
block, it will persist through updates.
Which Block :o ? ahhhh no way!
Is that good or bad or indifferent?
I did not know that Awesomesauce!
Ok, slow guy here, explain move into the block?
So, first things first–just test what @hkeric.wci recommended and validate that it works as you expect. When you are happy, come back and I’ll have this updated to include the steps.
EDIT: @hkeric.wci gets a gold star for doing my work for me
Ok, Thanks!
This was changed I think at 10.1.600.x to include almost all values in the .sysconfig for our Cloud customers specifically. In 10.1.500.x, a lot of items could be put into userSettings, but, not everything. If you’re on a release before 10.1.600, test it first
I’m testing it now. As well as testing 10.2.200, hoping to jump in the middle of next month. Just working out the final issues.
