We are completing a cost roll on a bom that has a lot of subassemblies.
To get the cost closer to what we were expecting, we rolled using the
load costing lot size option. This worked and now we are only missing
one thing. We are not getting the labor for the setup. We have verified
that the difference in the cost roll and what we should have is the
setup. Is there something that needs to be checked so that these costs
are included when the bom is rolled?

We are currently using Vantage 8 and have been experiencing issues with
rolling up our cost. We are using a standard costing method and when we
roll up the cost, our labor ends up being close to our labor burden.
That is issue #1.
We believe that whatever is causing the first issue may also be causing
another issue. When we issue and view our WIP report, we see material
cost and no labor. Our thinking is that something is not set up
correctly. If anyone has a clue as to what may be happening, please let
me know.

Yes, we have the labor =burden option selected. Tech support thought
maybe it was our crew size which is currently set at (5). We have
changed this to (1) just to see if that was our issue, but our problem
still exists.

Do you have setup time? If so, have to set a Costing Lot Size in the Part |
Plants tab and checked the "Use Costing Lot Size" in the rollup? You may not
be amortizing the setup time over the average job size.
We are not using the scheduler yet, and do not have set up time loaded.
We are keeping things simple so that we can determine what's causing our
problems.

Just a thought.
