We have been working with Costing Workbench a lot over the past two weeks
and we think we have things finally figured out.
Even though you do a Rollup that is not the procedure that updates costs in
the PartCost Table. It is used to 1. Show you the variances that will occur.
Run the Print Cost Set Group report after you do a Rollup Action to see the
variances. 2. Set up the rollup costs to be Posted into the PartCost Table.
After you confirm that all costs look right then you need run the Action -
Post. After you Post then you can look at the Part Cost Table (Cost
Adjustment screen, Part Tracker\General\Costs screen) to see the costs.
The BOM Cost report does not pull all costs from the PartCost Table, instead
it pulls costs for Purchased Parts from the Part Cost Table, Subcontract
Costs from the Method, and calculates Labor costs from the Method times the
Labor Costs of the Resource Group and\or Resource. Material Burden is
calculated from the Material Burden percentage on a Part.

Subject: [Vantage] Cost roll up
We have a manufactured part that has some changes made to its BOM. When we
run a costed BOM report, the changes show up and give an accurate cost.
When we run a cost rollup in the Cost Set Entry section, the cost does not
take any changes into account and there for does not give us the accurate
cost. The cost never changes.
Any ideas why this happens?
Thanks,
Jasper
