Corrective action / Non Conformance BPM

This gets more fun each hour.

Is it even possible to fire a non conformance method with a BPM on a
Corrective action method or am I going to have to pull in Service connect to
get this job done?

That is correct, the other does allow the creation of a corrective action
for other areas, internal audits, etc. The system also does allow multiple
corrective actions to be created from one non-conformance. This could be
the case where both the process was bad and the training was also bad
resulting in non-conforming materials. In this case two corrective actions
would be linked to the non-conformance.

According to our quality guy. In order to create a corrective action you

must have a non conformance. This being said we have been creating non

conformances of type "other" that aren't linked to a DMR in order to build

Corrective actions. So really there isn't a DMR associated with the Non

Conformance that needs to be closed.

The non conformance really shouldn't close until you've dispositions

(through DMR). Corrective Action doesn't do that... It just details long

term preventative actions in your quality system to avoid repeating

problems. (You are build a knowledge base of sorts).

All,

We are starting to use the Corrective Action / Non Conformance piece of

vantage more and more heavily.

We have noticed that when you close a Corrective action that the attached

Non-conformance stays open.

We would like the Non-conformance to be closed when we close the corrective

action. Has anyone tackled this issue?
