Core 2 Processor Performance

Hello Brian,

You can look at processor comparisons on intels website.

We just purchased two new servers to run V8 (one V8 server and one TS server). I opted for the Intel 5160 Xeon dual core processors. I also purchased 15k rpm disk drives with these servers and 16gb memory. I don't think you can have too much processing power for a V8 server.
I'll be installing these new server next week and can give you an update after installation on performance gains if you'd like.

want has an option of a dual core Xeon 5050 at 3GHz, or a dual core Xeon
5110 core 2 processor at 1.6Ghz for roughly the same price. Has anyone
done any testing to show if one or the other of these is a better
choice? Intel and my hardware vendor both have the same data and it
doesn't answer the question.

Thanks
Brian
