Copy default.mfgsys to client

On the server. It will affect new client installs, but not clients
already installed.

Is that run on each Client machine or just the server to send it to the
client machines?

Instructions: run ClientZipInstaller.exe (in Epicor905 ->
clientzipinstaller folder). Choose ZIP file of releaseclient.zip.
Assuming your new client config files are in the standard location on
the server (client -> config folder), skip the rest of the choices.
Click Finish. Twiddle thumbs.

Brian.

You only need to add the one file to the zip folder to update it.

There is a set of instructions somewhere that will tell you how to
repack
the clientzipinstaller.zip file with all the date, I don't have it right
here with me but will look for it if someone else does not have it. It
was
part of the Progress Service pack install guide for 604 or 605 last
year.

VBScript is what I found to the best. Either log in script or push it from a server. Otherwise you have to repack the releaseclient.zip and push the entire client out again.

Once it's in the zip file how does that then get to the client machine? Is
the change picked up automatically by Epicor and copied down?

You only need to add the one file to the zip folder to update it.

There is a set of instructions somewhere that will tell you how to repack
the clientzipinstaller.zip file with all the date, I don't have it right
here with me but will look for it if someone else does not have it. It was
part of the Progress Service pack install guide for 604 or 605 last year.

Seeing what Zac says and not being able to write a VBscript then I guess I

Yes as long as you change the Version Number on the
server\client\config\default.mfgsys.

Assuming your new client config files are in the standard location on

You only need to add the one file to the zip folder to update it.

There is a set of instructions somewhere that will tell you how to
repack
the clientzipinstaller.zip file with all the date, I don't have it right
here with me but will look for it if someone else does not have it. It
was
part of the Progress Service pack install guide for 604 or 605 last
year.
