Connection Issues with local Laptop showing Epicor is offline

When we use Epicor on the terminal server there is no issue to connect.
If we use the local application on the laptop. Sometimes we have an error message saying that Epicor is off line. We have the choice to retry or cancel. In reality Epicor is not off line. What could be the problem. The database for Epicor is on an SQL server.

could it be network delay? Probably the network is non-responsive.

That error message on the Client indicates you have lost Network connectivity between the Client and the Kinetic Application Server - your Client is “off-line”.

The Client will periodically attempt to reconnect but if no connection can be made, you will see the off-line message. Connection failures are 99% network related - common causes: Wireless connection failures; Firewall / Network appliance with an aggressive Idle Connection Timeout setting.

Connection disconnects are more common when using TCP/IP - HTTPS connections are more resilient to intermittent network anomalies.

Another item to check the the time difference between the server and the laptop. If the differential is too much, connection to the server will be denied and you will get this behavior.
