Clock someone out, but without MES

You don't.

If the clock ID is associated with a userID with a private password (versus some generic 'shop' userID that everyone knows the password for) you need them to End Activity for all their in-process transactions and (for good measure) then Clock Out in MES.

Only then will you be able to call up and edit their labor records in Labor Entry.

It's a ridiculous paradigm.

Just as in Purchasing - where userIDs can be set up to allow a manager to access all Buyer POs or suggestions, a supervisor or department manager should be able to take control of any clock ID they are responsible for supervising and managing.

If someone forgets to clock out yesterday, and you need to modify his/her time punch (using Labor Edit) you can't because they're still on the clock.
Short of going to an MES station, how do you clock someone out (someone other than yourself) from standard Vantage?
Thanks,

Tony

You could use the Endact.r routine to end their activity. Not sure about 8.x but this may be a utility/conversion routine now under system management. If it is not there already it can be obtained from Support for whatever version you're on.

I don't know if this helps we have Vantage 6.0. Go to Office Data
Collection, select the employee and end his activity and clock them out.
Then you will be able to edit the information with Labor Entry.

Tony, I may be off on this, but don't you have the MES shortcut on your
computer?

Why go to a MES station when you can do it on your desktop?

That would work too, but it would still be easier if you could do it from
Office MES.

Please feel free to submit an enhancement request (or let us know if one
exists) so I can add my company to it. As more users upgrade from 6.1 I
expect to see more of a drive to get back the functionality we had back
in 6.1. This is a good example that I would be very happy to support.

Starting with 8.0, Office Data Collection no longer works for anyone
other than the signed in user. So an office worker can clock in and
out using standard license Vantage but for a supervisor to clock
another employee out, they would need to go to MES. The only other
option is Vantage Admin tools but that's not practical for
supervisors. As a work around, we bought an additional MES license
for our supervisors to share.
