We started having this exact same issue when we linked the shop bell to the
server clock. One person sat at the PC ready to clock in and HIT the enter
key exactly as the pre-shift warning bell (meaning OK to clock in now)
sounded at 15 minutes before the shift. Same as the grace settings which
should roll the clock-in time forward. So he was getting set as overtime
and also scolded for clocking in too early. I ended up setting the warning
bell for 1 minute later. I was wondering why this was happening since no
matter how quick he was it should have been 1-2 seconds past the grace start
period. Thanks for the info and tracking down the explanation for this
oddity. Now I can give them back 29 seconds of their warning time. Believe
it or not they noticed the missing minute and complained.

Subject: [Vantage] Clock out Late allowance
Hello Group,
I had a problem with some clock out transactions. If an employee clocked
out on the exact minute that their "late allowance" ended some were backed
up to their shift end others got 15 minutes of over time.
Following is the response from Vantage Tech Support... FYI
Paul,
Just to confirm our suspicions from your call yesterday...the clock out late
allowance does depend on now many seconds past the minute the clock has
reached. I wrote an explanation document. See below:
Page ID 1713MPS
DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE:
The clock out late allowance does not seem to be consistent. For example, a
shift is set up for 07:00 - 15:30. Sometimes a clock out of 15:45 is left
as 15:45, and other times it works correctly and sets clockout to 15:30.
EXPLANATION:
If the clock out time reaches more than 30 seconds past the last minute of
the allowance time, it will not be rounded back. In this example, if the
employee clocks out at 15:45:31 or later, the time will not be adjusted to
15:30. If the employee clocks out before 15:45:30, the time will be
adjusted.
