We are currently running Vantage 4.00.901. I have one client
workstation that I am having a problem with. This client had been
working without any problems for many months. Then the machine
starting crashing AFTER exiting Vantage. I decided to uninstall
Progress and reinstall everything.
Now, during the Progress install, I get the following PROSHELL error
about 80% into the Progress install:
"DLLRegisterServer: Can not find PROMSGS file <w:\epicor\promsgs>"
I click the OK button and complete the Progress and Vantage installs.
When I try to launch Vantage from this machine now, I get the
following message:
"msgOpen: unable to open message file: PROMSGS"
I've compared this machine's AUTOEXEC.bat file with other working
clients and everything seems fine. I got a fix from Epicor, but it
involves creating a "promsgs" folder in the vntgwork folder and
copying the PROMSGS file locally onto each and every client. I'd
prefer not to do this.
Has anyone out there encountered this problem and been able to fix it?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
