Is there a way to edit the Supplier on a PO that was issued?
Only if all lines aand releases are open, and nothing eles ties to it (pre-payments, BTO on an Order, etcâŚ)
Uncheck the âConfirmedâ and âApprovedâ boxes, and save. You should then be able to change the Supplier ID.
Note that the prices and other line and release specific info might change.
All lines and releases of PO are open but still system is not allowing to change the Supplier ID for your reference screenshot is attached.
Do you get an error message - details?
Any receipts or invoices entered against this PO? If a receipt was entered, but only as âArrivedâ, the lines would still be open on the PO.
Iâd take a look at the PO with the PO Tracker. Also look at the Part Tran History for that part, to see if any Part trans reference that PO.
We have made the advance payment against this PO. After that we reverse with Debit Note.
I dont think youâll be able to change it now. The debit memo âundidâ the GL trans, but the advanced payment is forever linked to that po. Best you can do is void the PO and make a new one.
Could you please let me know how to Void the Purchase Order?
You might not be able to, since transactions have been applied against it. Iâm assuming the Adv Payment Invoice and related Debit Memo have been posted.
@Hari_Dutt - Actually you can use Actions -> Close Order and the order will be âvoidedâ. Future PO receipts or AP invoices shouldnât be able to reference it.
Have a similiar question:
Have a PO for subcontract operation for a job. The PO was received in against the subout operation and the job is closed. But wanted to change the PO supplier ID after the receipt. Is that possible? or does the job has to be re-opened and subout receipt backed out to make any changes (Vendor ID) to the PO?
In case anyone else has this issue:
Purchase Order Entry:
PO Header, Line, and Release must be open
Unapprove PO
Receipt Entry:
Delete receipt lines for this PO
Delete the packing slip on all receipts for this PO (if you can search for and find a pack slip, it has not been deleted)
