We’re now moving to Azure AD integration. The sysconfig we’re pushing out is set to use the Modern Menus. If a user wants to change to the Kinetic menus, can they do that without having to update the sysconfig manually?
When using Azure AD integration, it doesn’t prompt which version of the menus you want.
We’re just in that awkward place where the old cheese is starting to stink and the new cheese is still curds. I worked on my aunt’s farm for a couple of summers so the smell of dairy air while looking for new cheese doesn’t bother me much. I completely understand others will stay behind until the new stuff is ready.
To be honest, I think we’re all going to be ok, with the delay of the Classic retirement.
I am seeing pretty good progress on the curdling process, and the old cheese is still
edible. Just got to cut a bit of crust off.
Mind you, this is with people on all sides of this doing their due diligence. If Epicor continues
to improve the tooling, and user experience on the web side, and people learn and migrate
instead of staying stagnant, I think it will be alright.
I still have my reservations, but a year ago, I was terrified.
New business plan:
When Epicor truly decides to retire the classic client, I’m gonna become a
consultant/programmer, and pick up those last few that drug their , and charge
out the Wazoo.
The browser version supports SSO by recognizing the local Windows username? I just assumed it didn’t (not a way for any browser to have that kind of local system access that I know of) but I haven’t actually looked into it all.
