While practicing our go-live loads from the legacy system, a swag of sales orders seem to have somehow closed and voided in one of our companies. That mystery aside, I have been trying to reopen them via DMT update using Sales Order Header, setting VoidOrder to false and OpenOrder to True. DMT doesn’t error, it succesfully unvoids the orders, but will not reopen them- they remain closed. I know I’ll have to also reopen the line items and relases, but unless I can reopen the orders that is a little academic, any help most appreciated!
I have had all kinds of fun with DMT; seem to be quite a few inconsistent behaviours. I’m using Power Query within Excel to build the csv files from source datbases, so I’m using the DMT Templates for guidance as opposed to saving the template to csv and populating its columns- building “pipelines” to repeatably transform the old erp to epicor.
Examples of things I check when things go astray; these requirement are not always needed but some DMTs are fussier than others:
Ensure Columns in csv are in same order as in template
Ensure Column headers match template case exactly
We have two companies in Epicor: Most DMTs work across both companies, but for some I need to split the load by company, and restart the DMT application between them (sometimes just running the DMT twice, first time with lots of errors as if its still in the wrong company, 2nd time sorts itself out- however sometimes the odd record finds a match in the wrong Company and that’s baaaad.)
I am trying to migrate our old ERP system to Epicor, so the last 6 months have been Excel, Power Query and DMTs. Have just completed a 2nd practice load that took a week, will do a third (hopefully quicker and smoother), then will be ready for the go-live load in August. Really looking forward to seeing this in the rearview mirror…
