Hi colleagues. I got this issue when I tried to return material. I tried with 1, 2, and any number; when I tab, it comes up this error message. Do you happen to know why?
Are warehouse, bin, lot all the same as was issued to? Did any get moved off of the job to nonconformnce after they were issued?
Thank you for your quick reply. Sorry for my delay.
In regards to your questions, Here are the answers:
- WHS, BIN are the same (we don’t have lot)
- No, none of them were moved off for NC
Do you happen to know why I can’t return the material.
Thank you.
Did someone change the part number on the job after they were issued? Check part tran and make sure the part numbers match.
wondering if someone already returned them. Check PartTran for details.
Yes, the part number has never been changed…should I try to go and change it?
In Job Tracker, for that material, what does Material Transactions show? If it shows less than 4 issued, that would be the reason.
I’ve seen this happen when just the job requirement is issued to the job but the issuer physically grabs more “just in case” and then tries to return them later.
Amazing Jeff. I believe you got into the right root of this issue. Can you please help me to understand this table? I’m new on Epicor. Thank you for your tremendous help.
I see that one part was changed. The team player took 12 from …625 and 6 from …125. Then he returned 12 from 625, but left 6 of …125 (part). Is this the root cause?
Yeah. It has to match the transaction that it came in on. You can change the part on the job, do the return, then change it back.
Perfect. But how I can solve this at this point? Thanks for your support.
^^this
Yes, I can’t change the part from the job, it’s not an editable field to change.
Can you please remind me the steps to make this happen? Appreciate your help with this.
Thanks a lot. But this is not an editable field from my end. Unless I’m doing something wrong.
You’re in the job tracker. You need to be in job entry.
Excellent. Thanks a lot Brandon. Sorry about that, I’m fairly new with Epicor. Learning from experts like you. Thank you once again.
@daniel.eskenazi - a handy way of thinking about trackers vs. entry I teach to new users is: “Tracker = look up info; Entry = add/change/delete info”.
Trackers usually give you much more info than Entry screens, and are safer to give to users. For example, I’d give Job Tracker to salespeople so they can look up job status but I would not give them Job Entry.
This USED to be true, but with the new UI in the browser, the Trackers are the same exact screens as the entry screens, EXCEPT the trackers are read only. Example, Order Tracker and Order Entry both have the activity option, and also both have the new Explorer.
This has one additional advantage in that if you add a UD FIeld to the order entry program, it also shows up in the order Tracker.
Thanks for the correction @timshuwy! With almost all my current clients still in 10.2 or using client for Kinetic, my head is stuck in the prior differences.
