Hello

We have installed Vantage 8.03.409C (Progress) on a new server (Windows 2008).

Whenever anyone tries to print any Vantage reports on their client machine they get an error like the following

Could not find file 'c:\epicor\MfgSysData\Reports\TDOWDEN\PURCHASE ORDER16124.XML'.

or

Could not find a part of the path 'c:\epicor\MfgSysData\Reports\TDOWDEN\PURCHASE ORDER16124.XML'.

If I print using Vantage on the server itself then it prints just fine.

Things we have tried to fix the problem:

1.- Ran conversion 130.
2.- Recreated system agent, didnt work
3.- Checked security settings for the epicor folder on the server as well as the mfgsysdata folder and set them up full control for everyone.
4.- Rebooted server and restarted db and appservers several times.
5.- Uninstalled and reinstalled Vantage and Openedge on the server.
6.- Latest patches applied to Vantage and OpenEdge.
7.- Latest service pack applied to Crystal Runtime.
7.- Epicor Support webexed in and were just as baffled as we were having checked over several things.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Tim Dowden

Make sure in SystemAgent the Client File setting is \\<your server>\Epicor\MfgSysData

right now it looks like it is telling Crystal that the report data is on each clients local hard drive......

Thanks for the response.
The client file setting is already set up this way. I have also tried using the UNC path or the IP address in the System Agent fields but it hasn't sorted out the problem. It's a weird one this. I'm running out of ideas.

Are all your shared Epicor folders shared properly? Are you able to
open the run command and enter
\\YourVantageServerName\Epicor\MfgSysData\Reports
<file:///\\YourVantageServerName\Epicor\MfgSysData\Reports> and view
the folder?

Check your client shortcut path to the .mfgsys file.

Go to that file and make sure the path for your server is correct.

Usually in C:\client803\client\config ... open with notepad.

Also check the path in your .pf file on the server and make sure it has the UNC path and NOT the c:\ path in there.

All of your paths in the System Agent should be UNC, you then need to stop
and restart the Task and Process Appservers for the new settings to take
place.

You should be sharing the MFGSYSDATA folder directly and use that path in
the system agent, you should be able to access it through
\\servername\mfgsysdata

That is your problem, not anything else. The clients can't access via a
local path, it has to be UNC.
