Can you run Epicor with Application and SQL server on different OS versions

Will Epicor still work if the OS Versions on APP, SQL, and SSRS are different?
Example: The APP server is OS version 2012, and the SQL server is OS version 2019.

We need to upgrade our ERP servers (App, SQL, SSRS) to Windows Server 2019. However, per company policy, we require each change on the server to have a minimum of 12 hours to complete. this includes post-upgrade troubleshooting if necessary. it could go more than 12 hours. If that happens, this would mean we would be down for 3 days. We were thinking of upgrading one server on one weekend and the others on the next weekend.

Epicor 10.2.500.

Well, logic says that it should work, but this IS Epicor we’re talking about

We have run 10.2.400 and 10.2.700 on a setup where the App server was on a newer version than the other two. We haven’t tried the other way. We’ve always had SSRS and SQL on the same server, so we haven’t any idea if having those versions be different would cause issues.

I do this every time. I upgrade my SQL server first - and it’s the only thing I do that weekend. Then I’ll do my appservers on a later date. I run SSRS on the SQL server so that’s a 2 for one when I upgrade SQL itself.

I just map it out based on what I need to upgrade and what the Epicor server specification is. There are combinations that are - and are not- supported. This matters if you are going up more than one version on either the OS or the application. Soooo, I’d map it out and at any given point you should match one of the Epicor server specifications in order to remain fully supported.
