Mike / Rob
I have many ODBC Crystal Reports. 8.03.409C/Progress
I have them all hung off the menu and the "Program Type" in Menu Maintenance
is "Custom Report Link". Point it to the .rpt file and it *will* open in
the CR Runtime just fine.
I have both ODBC pointing to Progress and also to frequently dumped XML
files via the BAQ Scheduler.. works just fine.

By within you mean utilizing the 'free' runtime version of crystal provided
with your install... I couldn't tell you for sure, there may be some fancy
work around but I'll leave that for someone else to chime in on. If that
were the case I'm going to return all 147 copies of my developer licenses..

Yes, Create an item in menu maintenance, type external process, pic an icon,
In the program field enter a unc path to the crystal .exe program then add a
switch -"file path to rpt"
Ex.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\WINWORD.EXE" - "C:\sql
cursor.docx"
