Thanks for the response, everyone.
It looks like I'll have to stick with the current setup now, till we upgrade
and possibly implement ODBC.

Thad,
A temp table won't work, but I've been tossing around an idea
something like what you're after. Haven't even explored possibility
yet but here it is.
Without Provision this can't be done, but anyway...
I have a few programs that accumulate data and place in various
database tables for print with RB. This allows fonts, colors,
graphics and such - a better look than plain text. The drawback is
increased DB "clutter".
A solution may be creating a Progress function or procedure that can
be called with parameters DB name, table name, field names, etc.,
creating the DB on-the-fly. The program could call the function,
load the DB, run RB, then delete DB.
If this works, and I have no idea if it will, it would also offer
many people an alternative to exporting to Crystal or a spreadsheet.
Sorting, filtering and presentation in RB instead.
Back to your problem.
Another possibility is to have a buddy with Provision create a
generic table with fields char1, char2, .. char10, integer1, 2,.. 10,
etc., from which you could report and overwrite for any purpose.
Copy it to your c and access in single-user-mode.
Just throwing out ideas.
