Calculation Field in BAQ

I am having a similar problem in E9. Demand does not calculate correctly in the PartQty, PartBin, and PartWhse tables, so I need to join OrderRel, filter just the Buy Direct demand, and subract it from the Demand in the tables to get the correct number, however the BAQ does not let you calculate on the null field (Demand - My Calculation) - for the null fields it remains null after the calculation. If anyone has figured this out it would be a great help.

Hi All

I was working with calculation fields in BAQ and tried to do a sort field by combining a few values one of them a date vaule that was sometimes a NULL and so i had to do a IF to eliminate the NULL but it gave me a compile error.
Also i was trying to do a calculation field on another calculation field that was based on a sumarised table and it always gave me back a zero value.

Can someone help me out with what is acceptable and what not in the calculation field.

In my experience calculation fields are pretty limited. In 8.03.xxx you
can reference another calculated field from a calculated field. You can
if IF-Then statements as an example..

if labordtl.labortype="I" then if labordtl.indirectcode="PMB" then 0
else if labordtl.indirectcode="STB" then 0 else labordtl.laborhrs else 0

Subject: [Vantage] Calculation Field in BAQ

Hi All

I was working with calculation fields in BAQ and tried to do a sort
field by combining a few values one of them a date vaule that was
sometimes a NULL and so i had to do a IF to eliminate the NULL but it
gave me a compile error.
Also i was trying to do a calculation field on another calculation field
that was based on a sumarised table and it always gave me back a zero
value.

Can someone help me out with what is acceptable and what not in the
calculation field.

I sometimes have problems using ?(null) in a BAQ calculation. Try comparing to sqrt(-1), which returns a null.

Ephraim - Do you have Epicor's "General Information on BAQ Calculated
fields", answerbook: 3643ESC? Example 13 and Note 2 may help you.
