In the OrderDtl table for Sales Order Lines, there is a Lock Qty checkbox when, if selected, any new release quantities are deducted from the Release 1 quantity.
Is there any similar functionality on the Purchase Order side of the house? We have min/max/multiple set up on a boatload of parts that we have mostly on blanket POs, but we still have to wade through a few hundred suggestions per week. What my purchasing folks would love would be for MRP to bypass the suggestion rigmarole (for parts marked accordingly and with open POs) and automagically create new releases which (someday real soon now) APM could then equally automagically email out to the supplier. As these new releases would be on POs that are already approved, no additional steps are really required.
And I'm more than willing to hear what others have done.
