Some of my users complain that in the browser interface there is no standard right-click menu options (copy, cut, paste, etc.). I’ve been telling them to learn to use keyboard shortcuts. Is there a fix or workaround for this?
I often consider myself “keyboard enabled” and “mouse challenged”.
I also yell at clouds.
Can those functions be mapped or mimicked in javascript?
If so, we could make an epicor idea for some standard mappings.
I’m all for the keyboard but it’s a losing battle with these young users (they’re not that young).
I thought if Epicor can embed all the right-click “open with” actions then why did the leave out these functions?
I looked into the Context Menu route but not.
(Firefox only) Hold Shift + Right Click
That will override Kinetic right-click context menu with the native browser one.
I too have struggles teaching people keyboard shortcuts. Some people just don’t want to learn, but they’re going to have to remember to hold shift if they want their precious right-click context menu back.
Is there a setting for this? I tried this in 2021.2 and 2023.1 and I never get the native browser context menu to display. (Using Microsoft Edge)
EDIT: And EO Browser.
Suppose I should have mentioned shift+right click only works in Firefox. For some reason Chromium-based browsers (that includes Edge) don’t think you deserve the right to override an already overridden right-click context menu. I see no such setting either.
If it’s a big enough deal this might be their incentive to make the switch. (But just as a heads up the “Share” feature in Kinetic is partially broken in stable branch Firefox; but it works in Nightly – it chops off part of the path to your environment in the URL and makes the link not functional)
