BPM - Variables

I think you are right. Customizations can be like that too.

I have been frustrated several times with BPMs not working as they
should - I end up deleting them and re creating to get them to work.

I think changes to a BPM do not get reflected properly in the server .p
or .r code and remenants of prior versions remain to screw up the works

Hi Group,

Is it possible to create a variable in pre-process and then use it in
post-process? I am trying to create a Quote.Update post-process
directive, but the quote number does not seem to be available. I tried
a post-process with no conditions and the only action was to show an
informational message based on the template where I picked the QuoteNum
field from the ttQuoteHed table, but no quote number showed up when the
message displayed.

How about chucking it into an unused UD field in the preprocess for use
in the post?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply, but we have used up all the extra fields in quote
entry, except for a few date fields. Even if I did use one the the
ttQuoteHed fields what good would it do if I can't access the ttQuoteHed
table in post-process? If I could use the ttQuoteHed table then I
wouldn't have a problem, lol.

Yes, indeed, create your pre-process condition on the Quote.Update; then the
action is enable post-process directive...

Thanks, but I've tried that and the quote number does not display. I
need the quote number to perform some other actions but it was not
working so I tried the informational message only to see if it would
display the quote number, but it would not.

Yes, indeed, create your pre-process condition on the Quote.Update; then
the
action is enable post-process directive...
Then in post process there is a condition that says go get that
pre-process
directive; then your post-process action would be send the informational
message

Hi Rob,

Thanks. Are you talking about the parameters that show up at the top of
the screen when you hit the Advanced button? If so, the quote number
does not show up there in the Quote.Update method. It does list all the
tt tables though. I've tried using the advanced button and
{lib/PublishInfoMsg.i &InfoMsg= "ttQuoteHed.QuoteNum"}. and get nothing.

Linda

Thanks, but I've tried that and the quote number does not display. I
need the quote number to perform some other actions but it was not
working so I tried the informational message only to see if it would
display the quote number, but it would not.

I have been frustrated several times with BPMs not working as they should - I end up deleting them and re creating to get them to work.

I think changes to a BPM do not get reflected properly in the server .p or .r code and remenants of prior versions remain to screw up the works
