Did you create a startup schedule in your system agent and tie the bpm
asynch process to it?

Subject: [Vantage] BPM Emails

I am trying to set up an email when there is a new purchase part
created. I've tried the following and it doesnt send out an email.
Started with the Part BO and Update Method. I chose a pre-processing
with the condition of "the Part.TypeCode field of the added row is equal
to the "P" expression" and the action of "send e-mail asynchronously
based on the PurchasePartEmail template". I believe i have the email
setup right in the company setup. It is the same setup that we are using
in Vantage 8 for our emails and it works. Now that we are
piloting/testing in 9.05, i can't seem to get this to work. Is there
anywhere i can check to see if it's trying to send the emails or if the
BPM just isnt running? Sorta lost with this and cant find where to start
to find out the problem. Thanks for the help!

I have just started creating my first BPM's and haven't been successful in getting emails sent out to the recipients. I can get global alerts to send out emails but I have to believe for BPMs, there's another layer of complexity. (It's always something). Can someone give me the elements that make this work. I have already installed the Message Queuing components called "Common" and "Active Directory Integration". I have also started the BPM Action process as a startup task and restarted the appservers for that. Any other incantations? Spells? Charms? (Log file to say what went wrong?)

Kersten, I just picked up on your post and you said "post process". This can't be a pre process action? BTW why not asynchronously?
Thanks -Karl

Karl,

I sent you off line the class notes from the Epicor class I took on
BPMs. The way it works is that you define the conditions in the pre-
process and then send the email as a post process. I don't know why
the asynchronous doesn't work but I've never been able to get it to
do so.

Here is an example of what I have set up

pre process condition:

the ttPart.OnHold field has been changed from false to true

pre process action:
enable dependant post process directives

post process condition:

<Refresh the main form to get up to date conditions>

post process action:

send e-mail synchronously based on the PartOnHold template

This process send the following

CGEN-0029 has been placed on hold due to SPECT

Hold Description

Possible customer issue with design

when a part is placed on hold
