BOM Cost - How is Mtl Cost calculated?

Hello all,

We are trying to implement standard costing for parts but since things were set up sloppily in the past, I’m having trouble knowing where to start. When I run the BOM cost report, I see a value for material cost is being calculated but I am not sure where that value is coming from. I checked and it doesn’t seem to be an average of price paid for material, or latest purchase price. Does anyone know how Epicor is calculating this value??

BOM cost comes from the part cost of the material that is in the BOM.

go to part tracker on that part number that is in the MTL of that parent part. view cost tab. that is what the BOM cost would use.

It should be rolling up from the individual parts’ standard costs.
