Bartender prints three different labels instead of one

I have setup the Epicor autoprint functionality to print a label using bartender based on a change in the PartTran table.

I can’t explain the printed output:
I get three labels: the first one is blank, except for the formatting. The headers, lines, and logo are the only thing on the label; no dynamic data. The second label to print has all of the first, but now it fills in the db field names in the places I wanted data. The third label to print is perfect; it has all the lines, headers logo, and actual data in the right spots.

Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix this?

Thanks!

Are you using drop files? What do they look like? Sounds like you have an extra line or two. When you try to print out a same label directly from bartender, does it print correctly?

If you are using a “Bartender Report” in your report style is the RDD correct? If the RDD is returning more rows that Bartender expects it may be using additional Rows returned by the RDD as extra labels.

Perhaps your execution rule in your Auto Print Action is set incorrectly.

Let us know how you get on Paul, I’m curious.

I’d first make sure you turn off your labels, that should solve one issue. Next, Hally may be correct about your conditions.

Mark to ExcludeLabel on your fields in RDD

@Chris_Conn I’m thinking that ExcludeLabel column could get confusing

So I am following what others are currently doing in the group; I need a Material Issue Tag to appear as soon as we issue a part from STK to MTL.
I have a Std Data Directive that uses AutoPrint to Bartender and sends data from Part, PartTran, and Company to a network folder that Bartender is watching.
I’ll jump on the label settings next, as I unchecked both for each option I wanted in my dataset.

Not so good to set all the “Exclude Label” checkboxes checked… I checked a few other fields along the way and the result was that the PartNumber barcode disappeared from my label. Since it all became a bit messy I thought it would be a good idea to start from scratch, only to end up with no more .bt file generating upon MTL Issue.

So this is what I have; feel free to point out what I am missing or things to try…

Report Data Definition, Report Type: Bartender Labels. I created this as a copy of GenInv.
I have three tables; Report, Part, PartTran

I have linked PartTran to Company and Part, on both links the Relation Type is “Definition Only”

I have a Standard Data Directive on PartTran:

With an AutoPrint instruction:

And finally, here is the report style I created:

I would love to get your input on this…

Thanks!

Paul

Try your rule again by selecting the right Style, in the BPM Window once you click on the Auto-Print node on the bottom click on GenInv and it will let you select the right style which will also bring with it the right RDD.

You have the wrong Style selected.

once you select the right style you will have to redo your “specified options”

OK; I made the correction. It shows the right style and Data Definition now, but still no data as I issue a MTL:

Question, which screen is the user in, when this Label should be Invoked? Job Receipt Entry?

Inventory Mgmt / General Operations / Issue Material

So the Auto-Print rule triggers right, your .csv just does not contain data?

Here is how mine looks like for MFG-STK

I don’t get .CSV’s specifically; I used to get .BT files that would get picked up by bartender. But the .BT files are really .CSV’s… if that is what you meant.

Can you open the .BT file and look at it? What do you see there? It would be a good way to track down whether it’s an epicor problem, or a bartender problem.

Below are the contents of one of the .BT files it produced prior:

Look over my settings above, everything else you have looks good.

Curious do you have a space here? or is that just how it looks like:

Give me a screenshot of your RDD Relationships

I tried that route in the beginning as well. Let me plug it in and see if it works this time around.

If you use that file as your template file in bartender does it print the label correctly. (Does Epicor supply the bartender template files???)

WHOA! It was the space!!! Actually two. I entered that clause using the gui keypad on the menu instead of my keyboard, and it verified as well… Good eye!

Thanks!
