Barcoding Revisions

I have been tasked with creating a process where we have 1 master part code and then each time we update the part code we create a revision (purchased parts).

the main issue i can see is that i cannot barcode each revision.
XXXX(A) has a barcode
XXXX(B) has a different barcode and so on.

Has anyone else had to do something similar.
We want to be in a position where we stop changing our part numbers and have a revision of that part created instead.

Epicor doesn’t differentiate between revisions in stock as standard, my suggestion would be to include the revision as part of the serial number as a prefix.

You could change the prefix when you change the revision
