I have a copy of Bartender and am looking for the best way to integrate it
with vantage. I need to print barcoded shipping tags for a customer. Can
anyone give me some pointers? Anything would be helpful seeing as I'm not
sure what I'm doing.
Thanks

Is customizing the Crystal label an option? If so, use the Dataworks Bar 39
font, at least 24 pt for size. Then you can put the same field(s)
underneath the bar code for human readability.

For using barcode39 font you need to add one '*' at the beginning of the
field and one at the end. E.g. when you want to print the number 1234 in
barcode 39 then you must make a formula field like PrintNumber = "*" &
number & "*" (character string) where number is the name of that specific
field. Then add the field 'Printnumber' somewhere in your tag and change the
font into Dataworks Bar 39.
For extra information:
The valid characters are: 0123456789 ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ-.$/+%
Good luck,

I have been asked to write a report that lists all our part numbers and
corresponding lot numbers, along with the barcode for each. Does anyone out
there know where the barcode information comes from?

There is a font included with Vantage called DataWorks Bar 39. Format a seperate field with the data to be barcoded and append a "*" (asterik) on the front and back of the data ('*' + DataField + '*') then change the font on that field on the report to the Code 39 barcode font. In the canned Crystal Reports the DBF files have these fields pre-created as BCFields.
