Bar Coding Fonts

Kelly,
When you create your own barcodes make sure that you have a
starting asterix and an ending asterix you will have to develop a text
formula like this: "*" + string(numericfield) + "*" or "*" + alphafield
+"*"
The asterix tells the reader when to START READING, and when to STOP
READING.

Subject: [Vantage] Bar Coding Fonts

I'm going to request the help of the Vantage throbbing brain of knowledge
once again...

We are in the process of implementing bar coding. My bar code scanner (HHP
Imager 5800) successfully reads the bar codes printed on the Vantage router
(customized router that has Vantage's canned bar codes on it). However,
when I try to print out a custom raw material tag that is bar coded
(DataWorks 39), there is a space in the part number and the imager cannot
read it.

On the router, Vantage creates a formula when printing the bar codes. The
field is @BCPrint______ (job #, part #, etc...). The formula is:

if NOT IsNull ({jobasmbl.BCJOBNUM}) then {jobasmbl.BCJOBNUM} else ""

That seems logical to me, but I'm not sure where/how they are creating or
finding the field "BCJOBNUM".

Anyone familiar with this?

TIA!
