BAQ - OuterJoin with Shipto file does not work

I just got off the phone and a webex with EPicor support. They admit this is a problem because the outerjoin is not working properly. They aren't sure if it's our data or the outerjoin itself.

As for a different tool than BAQ - my current work around will be a BAQ report where the crystal will also include an ODBC (outerjoin) to SHIPTO. The problem is, our company policy is to not use ODBC for normal user reports - so this is a short term solution until Epicor Support gets back with me.

We're at 9.04.506C, There are some known issues with BAQ's specifically with Criteria selection (if you change the criteria, it might delete all the links to your other files is one example)
their next patch 507 scheduled for 11/25 might fix a few of these. Some of my other issues with BAQ's are supposed to be addressed in 9.05.601 (which was just released)- and won't be addressed at the 9.04 level.

Support did say that your best bet, is to make a change. Save it. Exit, and then go back into the BAQ. Very Flakey.

I've got a BAQ with an outerjoin to the SHIPTO file that does not return all of the records that it should. I removed the SHIPTO file from the BAQ and got the results I was expecting.. my question for support was - shouldn't an outer join with the shipto file and removing the file from the BAQ produce the same results???

the next step I tried... I just created a BAQ over the SHIPTO file itself. The records I was questioning in the previous BAQ were still missing.

I wrote an ODBC crystal over the SHIPTO file, and all of the records appeared.
So.
When I run an ODBC crystal over SHIPTO - I get ALL of the records.
When I run a BAQ over SHIPTO - several records are missing.

The BAQ is missing 1000 SHIPTO records. Anyone else experience this?? This really makes it difficult to analyze your data by SHIPTO/state.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Pam
Could you put the BAQ back to how you originally had it and then copy
and paste the Query Phase so that we can take a closer look?

In theory you're right but to compare 4GL to SQL can be like comparing
apples to oranges.

Is there a better way to sql records then using the darn BAQ designer?
