BAQ Issue with Part and PartCost

Big thanks to Bruce and Ernie. One sent me an exported BAQ and it got me
going and the other the SCR number for the fix (which Epicor has already
sent!) and I'm back in business.

Everybody's help is very much appreciated!

Epicor 9.04.507A

Every time we try to link these two tables, we get an error saying
that there are two "root tables". Any one else get this error?

Thanks!

Mark W.
What are you trying to pull out of the tables? And do you have a link between the two?

I tried it on 9.04.506C & it is OK here.
Do you have multiple companies? And include company in the joins?

I seem to remember I had root errors on a security file because the company is blank.

Yes, there is a link using both Company, PartNum. What's odd is that
it worked in 504B. Even recreating from scratch duplicates the
error...

Sigh...

Well, I've had a few strange things happen with BAQs in 9.04.xxx
Not specifically the one you are having.
You might want to call Epicor.
I spoke to them about this a few weeks ago & there are some version issues that they know about & some one-off fixes.

Yeah, we're calling. Our last call about the User Field Mapping ended
with, "Well, it works in .606"

Which meant we were SOL...

Thanks everyone.

Hi Ted,

Since Vantage 8.03, during our Physical Inventory, we've exported the
tags (CountTag now CCTag), the Part, and the PartCost information to
Excel. It made looking at variances a lot easier than printing the
Count Variance Report and searching through 250 pages by hand. This
BAQ has worked for years but needed to be updated to the new tags
table and it just won't link them any more.

Mark W.
What I've found when this happens to some of my BAQ's is to make sure all the links are pointing in the right direction, especially with Outer Joins. Check the directions of the links. Many database apps don't worry about this but Epicor 9 sure does.

Ask about SCR 78693, BAQ Table Relationships. We had problems with most BAQs until getting that fix in place. Be aware you'll have to install it on each client machine that creates BAQs.
