BAQ doesn't show in main menu

How do I share/show a BAQ report. I’m new to Epicor and have made a BAQ but it does not show up for other users. I assume I need to attach it to the dashboard. Basic steps for dummies would be very helpful!

Hey Daniel,

So there are BAQ’s AND BAQ Reports. To share just your BAQ, there is a “Shared” checkbox you can check in the BAQ Designer. Then other people with access to the BAQ designer can view your BAQ.

You could also attach your BAQ to a dashboard, then add that dashboard to the menu, then users without access to the BAQ designer could view the BAQ in the dashboard.

I do have it shared. When I’m in developer mode to create a new dashboard I try and click new query but it won’t let me.

@Daniel_Hammett When you say it won’t let you, does the dashboard developer look like this?

If so, you need to create a new dashboard definition ID and save it before you can add elements.

Yes I have that screen exactly as pictured.I have the BAQ made but it won’t show up on the definition ID list.

The definition ID is the name of the dashboard itself, like this:

Once you key in a suitable ID and hit Tab, it will save the ID and allow you to add a BAQ.

got it! Now where do I find the dashboard after I save it.

See KBs below on adding a BAQ to a dashboard and deploying it out to a menu.

Can you login to EpicCare and search for KB0034962 and KB0010169

So once you create the dashboard in the Dashboard designer you would go to Tools > Deploy.
Check Deploy Classic Application (or if you want the New UI/Kinetic check Generate Application
Click Deploy.
Then Go go Menu Maintenance and create a new Menu Item and select a,
Program Type of:Dashboard Assembly (for Classic) and select your dashboard from the dashboard dropdown.
or
If New UI. (kinetic) select Program type of Kinetic App and select the dashboard from the Program dropdown, i.e. Ice.UIDbd.
Log out and back in and test the new menu item.

Depends on what you mean here. To open the file in developer mode, you just click the definition ID button and search by ID:

But then to actually use the dashboard, once you have added all the BAQs, formatting, &c., you must first save, then Deploy Dashboard:

Then it must be enabled as a menu item via Menu Maintenance:

I have it deployed! thank you for the help.
